Microblading
Wake up to perfect, natural-looking brows every morning with our Signature Microblading Treatment
What is microblading?
Microblading is a semi-permanent makeup technique that involves the use of a handheld tool to deposit pigment into the skin, creating natural-looking, hair-like strokes that mimic the appearance of brow hairs. The result is a set of brows that look natural and fuller without the daily hassle of filling in or shaping them.
Does microblading hurt?
The level of discomfort experienced during microblading can vary from person to person. While some individuals may describe the sensation as mildly uncomfortable or liken it to a scratching feeling, others may find it more tolerable or even painless.During the procedure, numbing cream will be applied on your brows. If you feel still pain, further numbing cream can be applied as required.
How long does microblading last?
Based on our experience, we typically find that microblading will last anywhere between 6 months to 18 months – the truth is, it really depends on you! Everyone’s skin, lifestyle, make-up and cleansing routine is different and so the duration will also vary with these factors.
Will it fade or become discoloured?
Rest assured that at no point in time, will you suddenly wake up one morning with green-tinted eyebrows! We’ve done a lot of research on the various pigments available in the market and have imported the best of the best, directly from South Korea – a country well known for their cosmetic products! The pigments we use for microblading have been chosen for their ability to hold their colour and when it does fade, it’ll fade naturally and gradually.
What's the healing process? How long does it take for it to look natural?
It typically takes a few weeks for the treated area to heal and for the results to settle into a more natural appearance. The initial healing process usually lasts around 7 to 14 days, during which you may experience some scabbing, flaking, or mild swelling. It’s important to follow the aftercare instructions provided to ensure proper healing.Initially, the color of the microbladed eyebrows may appear darker and more intense than desired. However, as the healing progresses, the pigment will soften and lighten. It’s common for the color to undergo some changes during the healing period, so don’t be alarmed if you notice fluctuations in shade or intensity.By the end of the first month, you should see a more natural-looking result. A touch up session is usually recommended 4 – 6 weeks after the initial session to perfect the shape and color.
How long does the whole process take? Can you please explain the process step by step?
The whole process takes around 2 – 3 hours and inclues the following steps:
Design Consultation: Your journey begins with a detailed consultation where we discuss your brow goals, preferences, and any questions you may have. We’ll analyse your facial features, skin tone, and existing brows to create a personalised design that complements your face.
Apply Numbing Cream: To ensure your comfort throughout the process, we’ll apply a topical numbing cream to the brow area. This cream takes approximately 20-30 minutes to take effect, minimising any potential discomfort during the microblading treatment.
Microblading Treatment: Using a specialized hand tool, we’ll delicately create hair-like strokes in the brow area. These strokes are infused with pigment, closely resembling the appearance of natural brow hairs. Each stroke is precisely placed to achieve a realistic and natural effect.
Pigment Application and Feedback: Following the microblading process, we’ll apply pigment to the strokes. Throughout this stage, you’ll have the opportunity to review the progress and provide input, ensuring the shape and color align with your preferences.
Final Assessment: After completing the initial microblading, we’ll thoroughly assess the brows for symmetry and make any necessary adjustments to achieve the desired outcome.
What colour options and pigments do you have available?
We offer a range of color options and pigments to suit different skin tones, hair colors, and preferences. During your initial consultation, we’ll discuss your desired brow look and analyse your skin tones to recommend the most suitable pigment shade. Our goal is to create brows that look natural and complement your features.
I’ve got a previous eyebrow tattoo, can I still receive treatment?
Absolutely! If you have a previous eyebrow tattoo, you can still receive microblading treatment in most cases but it’s important that you first reach out to us so we can assess your current brows. The existing tattoo needs to have faded enough to ensure the new hairstrokes to stand out.
I’ve got sensitive skin / allergies, can I still receive treatment?
We understand the importance of accommodating sensitive skin and allergies. Before your microblading treatment, we’ll conduct a thorough consultation to discuss any skin sensitivities or allergies you may have. This information is crucial for ensuring your safety and a successful procedure.
Our pigments and products are carefully chosen to be hypoallergenic and suitable for a variety of skin types. However, if you have specific concerns, we recommend patch testing prior to the treatment to determine if any adverse reactions may occur.
I’ve read it all, I know everything about microblading but I’m still reaaaally scared and nervous, can you convince me more?
Absolutely, we understand that trying something new can be nerve-wracking. But rest assured, we’re here to make your microblading experience as comfortable and reassuring as possible.
Our skilled technicians will guide you through each step, answer your questions, and ensure you’re well-informed about the process. We apply numbing cream to minimise any discomfort, and you have complete control over the design before we start. We’re committed to giving you beautiful, natural-looking results so take a deep breath and let us help you achieve the brows you’ve always wanted!
Pre-care Instructions
We want to help you achieve your dream brows and for us to do that, it’s important that you follow the pre-care instructions below so that everything goes smoothly! If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to us.
Skin Conditions or Allergies: Inform your technician of any skin conditions, allergies, or medical conditions you may have to ensure a safe and successful procedure.
For at least 24 hours:
-
- Avoid Alcohol and Caffeine: These can thin the blood and may lead to increase bleeding during the procedure. Caffeine can also increase the sensitivity of your skin.
- Stay Hydrated: Drink plenty of water in the days leading up to your appointment to keep your skin hydrated, which can improve the healing process.
- Avoid Blood-Thinning Medications unless medically necessary: If possible, avoid blood-thinning medications or supplements like aspirin, ibuprofen, fish oil, and vitamin E for at least 48 hours before your appointment, as they can also increase bleeding.
For at least 2 weeks:
-
- Avoid Sunburn or Tanning the brow area: Sunburnt or tanned skin can cause skin irritation and peeling which can affect the treatment.
- Avoid Waxing, Tinting or Shaping your brows: Your natural brow growth pattern will help the technician better design your new brows.
- Avoid Facial Treatments and Chemical Exfoliants on the brow area: This can cause skin irritation which can affect the microblading process.
For at least 1 month:
-
- Avoid Retinol, Retin-A and Vitamin A: These ingredients can thin the skin and make it more sensitive, increasing the risk of irritation and discomfort during the procedure.
- Avoid Botox and Dermal Fillers: Injectables can change the shape and position of the eyebrows, affecting the microblading outcome.
For at least 12 months:
-
- Avoid Accutane: If you are currently taking Accutane or have taken it within the past 12 months, it’s crucial to wait until the medication is fully out of your system before getting microblading. Accutane can affect the skin’s healing process and may lead to adverse reactions during the procedure.
Any questions, please reach out to us and we’d be more than happy to help. We look forward to seeing you soon!
After-care Instructions
Congratulations on taking the exciting step towards achieving your dream brows! To ensure your newly enhanced brows heal beautifully and stay vibrant, it’s crucial to follow the aftercare instructions below. Proper aftercare not only helps with healing but also ensures the longevity of your results.
Immediate Care (for 1 week):
-
- Keep the Area Dry: Avoid getting your brows wet during showers or when washing your face. This helps prevent scabbing and ensures proper healing.
- No Touching or Picking: Let the scabs flake off naturally. Picking or scratching can remove pigment and cause uneven healing.
- Avoid Sun Exposure and Tanning Beds: Direct exposure to sunlight and tanning beds can cause your brow tattoo to fade more quickly. Sunburn can also cause color fading and irritation.
- Avoid Makeup and Skincare Products: Steer clear of applying makeup, creams, or serums directly on your brows.
- No Swimming or Saunas: Refrain from swimming in pools, hot tubs, or saunas as these can impact pigment retention.
- Moisturise Gently: Apply a thin layer of the provided aftercare balm using a clean cotton swab. Do this 2 times a day for the first 3 days. and then apply as required thereafter if your brows are dry, itchy or peeling.
For 1 month:
-
- No laser or chemical treatments
- No exfoliation
- No application of creams containing Retin-A, AHA or Glycolic acid on or near the treatment area
Maintenance:
-
- Book Your Touch-Up: Microblading typically requires a touch-up session around 4-6 weeks after the initial treatment. This helps perfect the shape and color.
- Refresh: Depending on your skin and lifestyle, a refresh may be needed every 12-18 months to maintain your desired look.
Remember, everyone’s healing process is unique. Follow these guidelines to ensure the best results from your microblading treatment. If you have any questions or concerns, don’t hesitate to contact us. We’re here to help you enjoy your beautiful brows to the fullest!
